Play the Game of Love with Dating Sims

You may think you've seen it all when it comes to online dating. However, there's a fun new innovation that's making waves in the Internet dating world, and it's called dating sims. The word sims is short for simulations, which you may already be familiar with. There are lots of simulation games out there where players get to explore amazing virtual worlds and interact in real time with other players. Most of the time, these sim games involve building your own world or fighting bad guys. With dating simulations, you're actually meeting and going out on virtual dates with other players.
Some dating simulation games are free to play, while others charge a monthly or annual fee. There are software games like the popular Sims line of games where you don't get to interact with real people. Then there are MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing games) that let you interact with real people just like you. You'll find that these games offer entire worlds, where your character can work, shop and play. You can make virtual money which can be used to buy virtual goods and services.
Some MMORPG games even translate this virtual money into real money. For example, some games allow you to sell your virtual money to other players for real money. You'll even find established characters, virtual goods, and other items up for auction on Ebay. Before participating in transactions like these, check the rules and regulations of the game to ensure you don't get in trouble. There may also be various rules regarding what you can and cannot do or say in the virtual world. For example, hateful or offensive language is usually prohibited and is grounds for permanent suspension.
Some people play dating sims for fun, others to actually meet other singles. Many teens enjoy playing this type of simulation game because it allows them to interact with others in a safe yet fun environment. Not to say these games are just for teens. In fact, the majority of players are usually adults. Believe it or not, there have been marriages that have come from two people meeting on a sim game. Whether you're seeking some new friends, a little fun or a lifelong love, you just might find it on a dating simulation!
